The Merger of Scottish Care at Home and Scottish Care: a plan for success !
Scottish Care at Home and Scottish Care have created a manifesto setting out the views of their Executive Committees detailing the benefits of a merger between Scottish Care at Home and Scottish Care - the way forward for continued success.
During the summer we undertook a consultation with our respective committees, members, partners, regulators, professionals and others about the proposed merger. I am delighted to advise that overall there was a majority agreement on the merits of a single representative body in Scotland for Scottish Independent Care Providers, it was seen as a natural extension of the strategy 'to create the strongest possible alliance and collective voice to protect and promote the interests of independent care providers'.
Reponses overall were positive and helpful and supported our direction with the objectives seen as appropriate, high priority and mutually significant. Emphasis was placed on the unique opportunity to strengthen the brand of a new 'Scottish Care - the voice of the independent care sector'.
We will now take this merger forward to completion and launch the newly merged organisation called 'Scottish Care - the voice of the independent care sector' on 1st January 2010.
A workplan plan for 'Scottish Care - the voice of the independent care sector' is currently being developed and will be presented to the new integrated Executive Committee later this month. Thereafter the workplan plan will be made available to all members for comment.
The AGM for the Organisation will be held in May 2010 and this will of course give all members the opportunity to influence and discuss the way ahead for 'Scottish Care - the voice of the independent care sector'.
It has been both an honour and pleasure to have been your SCAH CEO thanks to you all for vision for the sector and your support in making it a success. This merger will deliver added value, increased support and more resources to you the valued members of the emerging 'Scottish Care - the voice of the independent care sector'.
On a personal level I am delighted to be joining a fantatsic team in the role as depute CEO tol deliver on the outcomes for all its members across the care sector, a warm welcome to 'Scottish Care - the voice of the independent care sector'.
Gloria
Scottish Care Depute Chief Executive
