CARE COMMISSION - Inspection Focus Area 2010/11

Inspection Focus Area 2010/11 – Assuring Quality

We have committed to one Inspection Focus Area (IFA) for 2010/11. It is called “Assuring Quality” and applies only to Care at Home services and combined Care at Home and Housing Support services.  Please note that there are no IFAs for any other service type this year. We will be using a sample approach for this IFA and CCOs will notify the providers that have been selected when they confirm the inspection visit details. A copy of  our evidence gathering tool is below.

Inspection Focus Area: Assuring Quality

IFAs allow us to explore and report nationally to a wide range of stakeholders, including service users, carers and providers about the quality of care in Scotland. It is also important to note that IFAs are complementary to our inspection process and will provide evidence for particular Quality Themes and Statements.

We may ask additional questions and inspect against additional Quality Themes and Statements where required and this will be explained to you where it occurs.

More information about this years inspections can be found on our website within Care Services > Service Providers information > Inspecting Services
